Interviews with Women in Design
Interviewed by
Alua Amangeldikyzy and Nancy Dumitru.
In this special series, we had the incredible opportunity to connect with four inspiring women designers—Kayleigh Denner, Sophie Aschan, Anna Jordan, and Tina Touli—each with their own unique design journey and creative approach. Conducting these interviews gave us a deep look into their design journey, evolving styles, influences, and processes, as well as the challenges and triumphs they’ve encountered along the way.
Through our conversations, we explored how their personal experiences have shaped their work, the routines and habits that keep them inspired, and how they navigate the demands of being creative professionals in a rapidly changing industry. We wanted to not only learn from their expertise, but also provide insight for aspiring designers who are navigating their own paths.
From designing innovative book covers to exploring kinetic typography, teaching the next generation of designers, and balancing creativity with other passions, each of these women offered a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. We asked them about their journeys, their creative processes, and the key experiences that have influenced their growth as designers. We also covered more personal topics, like motherhood, burnout, and their creative processes.
Whether you’re an experienced designer or just starting out, we hope these conversations will leave you motivated to explore your own creative journey. We’re excited to share these interviews with you and to celebrate the diverse and powerful voices of women in design.
